                   Expansion:

Love takes time and effort

A.    Without enough time, people do not know each other enough which will lead to a result that people imagine their lovers too perfect that once time destroys their fancy for lovers which means they cannot understand each other or they cannot stand the lovers’ shortcoming, they may finally find that she or he is not the person they really love.  

B.     If someone think he or she fall in love with another, and they do not spend much time together to know each other, the most possible reason that lead them to fall into love is they are appealed by the good appearance of each other, however, human will get old and human always want something or someone new, so appearance can bring someone who is drawn into the beautiful or handsome appearance, but character can decide whether people can love each other.

C.     In Cinderella story, Cinderella and prince just stay with each other for one night, the time is so limited, how much they can know about another, even the prince cannot remember the appearance of Cinderella that he can only find Cinderella by shoe.

Marriage plot lead to passive influence.

A.    Marriage was used as a tool to get stuff such as wealth and upper class, but now marriage is not only a ceremony but also means sincere combination of people. Marriage plot tries to bring the old opinion to society.

B.     Marriage plot sends people a signal that women’s success depend on marriage, and also lead the girls to be passive: since marriage can bring success, why do they need to fight, their husbands can deal everything for them.

C.     In long history, women are always the appendant of men, social class is different between men and women, and women use quite a few time and much effort to fight the unequal society, if girls believe the marriage plot and depend on men, they are wasting the consequence that women used to fight.

Marriage without love cannot bring happiness

A.    Without love, people will not care about their partners and the careless can lead to loneness, much loneness cannot make people happily ever after, it can only bring crazy.

B.     Every relationship need respect, if the marriage without love, it probably lost respect too, people will not think for their partners if they don’t have any emotion.

Response to Shrek: Parody or Form of Retaliation

   “Shrek: Parody or Form of Retaliation” makes a point that <Shrek> is not only Parody but Form of Retaliation. This essay expose the conflict between Jeffrey Katzenberg and Michael Eisner to public. Katzenberg announced that Disney had defaulted his wage when he was employed by Disney and Disney had got profit because of his movies. Due to the conflict, <Shrek >is considered as a retaliation to Disney. Because the obvious difference that Katzenberg point out that everyone has right to receive love, no matter who they are, which is satire for Disney.

  As far as I am concerned, it is the parody and the idea of <Shrek> which is a satire to Disney attracts audiences. Throw off the conflict between Katzenberg and Eisner, what I see is think outside the box makes Katzenberg get huge success. The satire for Disney movies can be considered as a retaliation, but it can be considered as breaking the way of Disney, and it not only sets me pondering on the important of drop out of some “normal” routine but also how to use an appropriate way to get the objective with opponent’s “help”

Thesis: technology improves education

Quote: Thanks to technology, we can instantly communicate across the world, but it still doesn't help us know what to say.

Explanation: according to Jonathan Henry Sacks, a rabbi, philosopher and scholar of Judaism, technology is a tool to commutate with outside world, but it cannot replace education. However, there is no doubt that the modern education is always corrected which owes to the development of technology that lead people to know about truth and the world. Technology can’t teach people to know about knowledge, but without technology, the education that people receives is always same and the wrong opinions are hard to correct, which is the reason why technology improve education.

              Response to Insight from a Cinderella story

Cinderella, the main character of the story establishes a positive image that no matter how difficult situation she faced with, she never gives up her dream, it is her insight that save her heart and finally achieve her dream. It is the theme to praise the good quality, however, there are also some subtle detail to show meaningful symbols.  

There is no doubt that the saddest thing for Cinderella is lost her father who loves her so much, and after her father’s death, Cinderella has to face the fact that she isn’t the favorite girl in family any more, she has to stand the ill-treatment, which just like the children have the face the cruelty of the society when they leave their parents’ help. Furthermore, the grey of Cinderella also emblems her pain for her father’s death which demonstrates that people always need much time to get out the pain, the stepsister also stand the peacockish personality and there are also many meaning in the story and most the symbols are represented in a small details which are always ignored. By observing the these symbols, it is helpful to realize the importance of detail for plot development and the details can lead readers to find more meaning of the story.

Reading story just focus on the plots will miss many details, analyzing the details is also a way to analyze inside world which makes us think further and deeper.

          Response to Why the Marriage Plot Need Never Get Old

With the feminism developing, marriage is not the most important part for women any more. However, it seems a disaster for the novels which are related to the main characters’ marriage, and there is an instance in the article that Anna Karenina kills herself because she left her husband which also ruin her life, but now the heroine in contemporary novel will be busy with the custody battle and remarry. In the former novels, the social repression for the main characters demonstrates the power of love, which attracts the readers most. Nowadays women have the right to divorce for themselves, however, from my perspective, the marriage plot will not be out of style because of it.

On a hand, marriage plays an important role in everyone’s life, and the person you choose is who you want to live with her/ him for the rest of your life or at least a part of your life, so marriage will not be separate with love, although divorce is legal, it is not a reason to use marriage as a tool to get money. On the other hand, in brief, the conflict comes from the social life and human nature which means the conflict won’t be influenced by outsides situation, for example Madmen Bovary does not a successful is because the her character, divorce cannot solve her problem.

 In a conclusion, the plots which are related to emotions and play important role in people’s life such as marriage will not get old.

                  Response to Mutant Right

It is ridiculous to deny that mutant human is human. The mutant human have the same appear as human, they can consider and they can do everything human do. However, Sherrie and Indie tried to find the leak of doll definition to prove that mutant human did not belong to the scope of human being, and the reason why they did it just for the money, just for cut down the tax. For money, they even prove that mutant in regular family is also not human being which means the mutant have to live in the shadow of being excluding by everyone. Sherrie and Indie have rubbed humanity..

From my perspective, mutant human is also human. For example, if the mutant were not human, all marvel heroes would not be human. The meaning of marvel movies or novels has been changed, people hope that marvel heroes to protect them, but people still fear and hate them, the positive meaning has been destroyed a lot. Furthermore, denying mutant also show the unequal to the mutant, and depriving the mutant right also shows that people exclude the person or things which is strong and uncontrolled. I think we are not tolerant enough to mutant, and when the judge rules that all marvel heroes are not human, the humanity for mutant is destroyed.

This article began with a plot that the man doesn’t know how to use the electric drill but he pretend know it. It seems ridiculous but this insignificant plot shows men’s nature which every boy will learn from their father. Because the father or the husband is always the backbone of the whole family, so they are always confident and seem to have ability to solve any problem. It is not means they are omnipotent, and it is their love and responsibility for the family that make them stand in front of their family. When they were in the storm, nobody knows how to get out of storm but because of the responsibility for the family, he tried to pretend to know how to drive. In fact, even the wife realized that they were lost, and the equanimity of her husband just like faking, but it is the equanimity that made her calm down.

There is a part that the man promised that he never hid the uncertainness and pretend to acknowledge the knowledge he didn’t know when he became a father, but finally his method to deal with problem is more close to his father. It is a growth for the man. It is a common phenomenon that teenagers always think parents cannot understand them and parents’ methods are always wrong, but only when we grow up we can understand them deeply. When the man becomes or learns to become a father or husband, he will really know that men’s responsibility leads them not to stop to ask question, and men’s love leads them to hide their weakness, although it looks like faking in some situation.

Response to RuPaul, Big Freedia and the Mainstreaming of Gender Performance

Society used to construct a strict boundary between male and female, if a man had performed as a woman, society would have laughed at him and even considered them as psychopath. The traditional masculine and feminine is so stubborn and wide that so many people have to fake to fit the figures of male and female. However, with time going by, the opinions of society will also change: Since no one is extremely same to another, why all the people have to fit the specific figure. RuPaul, the drag queen, who bring male-to-female performance into popular culture shows that society has a higher tolerance for it, and it also sends a message to the people who have the same hobby don’t have to hide anymore.

It is the opinion of society that makes people repel special minority such as homosexuals, feminine men and masculine women and it is extremely unfair for them. Sometimes people who think they are correct just because they belong to a large tribe, but majority does not stand for truth. People have rights and freedom to be what they want and the success of RuPaul and Big Freedia demonstrates the progressive thoughts of society: public try respecting the people who are not belong to mainstream. It is a good news for all the people because nobody can totally ignore the society opinions, and more respect for others, more freedom to express true self.

Response to Cinderella and Feminism

Gender is constructed by society, and Cinderella is an example to show how society to bring feminism to people and how great influent the fairy tales have. Cinderella is a perfect woman for traditional concept which is built by male-dominated society: beautiful, gentle, passive, quiet, and subordinate, and she is the standard to judge other characters. For instance, the women who neglect her like her stepmother and stepsisters are ugly and will get punish in the end, the man who is attracted by her like the prince is handsome and powerful, and the helpers who give her chances to transition is magic and just. The story shows that women like Cinderella can get help and live happily ever after, but the women who is mighty won’t be accepted by society. When girls read this story, they are accepting feminism unconsciously.

From my perspective, Cinderella is a tool to expand feminine concept and the end of the story brings ignorant girls a standard of perfect women and an impression that when they are stuck in dilemma, they do not have to be mighty and fight with villains, they just need to wait for a powerful character to save them, and it is the impression that identity the affiliations between men and women. So the gender concept has plant by the fairy tales when people are children.

              Response to Women Smile

“The women without smile are too serious to associate.” It is a common perspective of most people, so it shows the phenomenon that the society requires women to smile in nowadays. According to this article, smile is a tool to express human’s relief, merriment, and the return to others, which is born with human. However, smile has much more purposes today, it is because the society constructs figure of women which asks women to smile to show their friendly, active, gentle, and beautiful. For the women, especially the women work in public service, they have to smile to fit the figure and their smile is for others’ feeling, so the smile becomes a mask for women to being “women”. Because that women use smile to hide sorrow, embarrassed, pain and nervous, just like Chabon, so many women are faking.

Furthermore, over last 2000 years, the attitude of society is strict to women’s smile, so the women can only smile at appropriate festival. By contrast, it is clearer that society decides women to smile or not. It is really unfair for women. On the other hand, women’s smile isn’t always useful, such as the incident referred to in the article, the woman can explain but she chose smile which made the things worse.

In a word, the society pushes women to smile, even if women are tired to smile to others. How ridiculous situation it is.

        Cenerentola is the earliest edition of Cinderella in Europe, which was written by the Italian author- Basile, Giambattista.This story show that the good begets good,and evils leads to evils ,and it also advise people to keep good.

In the story, there was a prince who was a widower and had a daughter called Zezolla, he loved his daughter and kept a governess for her. However, after a time the prince married again, the stepmoter gave her stepdaughter bad treatment. It was the fierce treatment that made the poor girl fear her stepmother, and the gilr wanted her governess become her mother because of her governess's kindness. She sang for it, and last the governess told her how to kill her stepmoter.After that a dove told her that she could request to the Dove of the Fairies in the island of Sardinia and she would get what she wanted. the little girl done what her governess suggested, and she broke her stepmother's neck, after that she told her father that her wanted her governess to become her mother. Although the prince thought she was kidding, he married with the governess.

the governess began wonderful life after that, and she brought her own six daughters, and it was also the ending of the girl's good day. Zezolla lost almost everything of her even her name, she was called Cenerentola.   

 When the prince went to Sardinia , the fairy and a beatiful girl let the prince know how kind his daughter was, and let he bring a date-tree/ a hoe and a little bucket all of gold.Cenerentola was so happy to get it that she treated it very carefully.When the time for the feast was come, Cenerentola made a wish, and she came to the feast like a queen. She was so beautiful that the king fell in love, the king let servant to follow her, but the servant lost her trail, and the king had to wait for next time. But the king did not caught her, although Cenerentola joined many feast, and finally, Cenerentola left her slippers. The king let all the women to try this slipper, and finally he found Cenerentola and let she become his queen.

It shows clearly that the evil people cannot get wonderful ending, and the experience of Cenerentola told readers that keep a good quality is important for everyone.
